I've been calling contradances and squares since 2010, branching out to English Country Dances in 2026.

Now that I'm retired and can travel more, I have become interested in calling both Contra and ECD further afield.

I modified Erik Hoffman's Major Hey to be
a 96-beat AABBCC dance, Major Hey AyeAye (Major Hey II), called at Dancing Fish.

Only the first dance of this 3-dance medley was taught. Calling, I made a few errors; corrected on the fly.

The first is my own Oval-teen (written for my daughter), where I inadvertently elided the “slide-left” progression.
The other two dances: At 2:27 Three Ceremonies by Adriane Moser and at 5:19 Chainsaw Reel by Don Lennartson.
This group had a majority of good-natured beginners, for Frederick Contra by Tom Hinds.
Kathy Anderson's delightful Weave the Line worked beautifully several times through. Then confusion arose, everyone cheerfully kept dancing and accommodating. I never got it fully fixed, but everyone kept laughing and had a grand time. (Dancing Fish)
A house contra with no mic and the band in a different room. My dance Not all Earthquakes are Andreas' Fault is intermediate so I started it (maybe too) slowly. It gets to speed around the 4:55 mark.
